Listening to your heart

Iisjah sat in the quiet hospital hall, the harsh cheap sofa and nasty tea from the vending machine giving little comfort. His ears moving slightly trying frantically to hear Blady's faint heartbeat, assuring himself that it was still beating in the other man's chest. Tears quietly falling on his tracksuit's sleeve, hand pulling his hair in quiet desperation.

'They didn't even let me see him', 'should have seen it sooner' and 'I don't want to lose you' floating through his head.

A scene from our RP with *Smoludozerka from before Blady and Iisjah were a couple (but after Iisjah decided that he prefers Blady's comfortable house with a fireplace and room to stretch his legs to his own). It was also the beginning of Iisjah coming to terms with the fact yhat he might be feeling something more towards his friend and flatmate.

Blady was on a bodyguard duty guarding Savinion on a dinner meeting with some of his accomplices. Iisjah was tugging behind, waiting for him in a back alley as not to bug him during his work.
While trying Savinion's food Blady suddenly suffered a heart attack (as was later revealed the food was poisoned)
Iisjah reacted as fast as he could giving Blady his heartpills and calling the ambulance, and later staying at the hospital (with a small exception of going home to feed Muddle) until Blady got released.

That part of the RP was one of the characters' lowest points - Blady realising he is more frail than he thought and Iisjah developing his fear of loosing Blady ( he still doesn't want to let him go alone on his jobs) and a habit of listening to his heartbeat.

Just to clear one thing here: Iisjah can hear heartbeats from a distance as one of his vampire abilities.

Oh this one was...emotionally exhausting. Just remembering how Iisjah was devastated after the incident (heck, they both were) makes me all teary eyed.

The colouring was exhausting too - couldn't hit the right thing for a long time. Finally decided on sharp, black shadows and a limited pallette so to turn the focus to the characters as much as I could.
