Hector Durand portrait

I opened up some sketches of some minor OCs yesterday in th intention to colour them fast and make a sketchdump but this guy insisted that I painted him or he will haunt me :V

So meet Hector Durand. Over 300 years old vampire and most importantly Sanets sire.

Quite intelligent and suave but also greedy, selfish and arrogant, most of the things he does are for his personal gain, although he often twists them so his actions appear more sincere than they actually are. If he doesn't see any profit for him he rarely will commit to it.
One of the exceptions is his scientific and teaching career - he's currently an alchemy professor at Arwa-Turian university and even though he is really strict for the students he is considered an excellent and knowledgeable tutor.
Although he finds the times he's living in now to be far too loose, as he is quite the traditionalist, the ability to freely admit to being a vampire makes him really happy as he can freely claim his rights of his older scientific essays and discoveries.

He and Sanet met first time during Sanets time at the university where Hector was one of Sanets alchemy professors. Sanet - a natural alchemy prodigy - instantly caught his attention and they spent many hours discussing different alchemy theories like equals.

After some years when he learned that Sanet was given pardon for his actions he sought him up and slowly became his friend, seeking someone equal to make his companion in the long vampire life. The only problem was that Sanet, being insanely in love with his fiancée and later wife Violet, wouldn't give his full attention to him, and becoming a vampire was out of question.
So he arranged an 'accident' that removed the obstacle in his way - a huge fire that killed Violet but left himself clean of any suspicions.

Devastated Sanet agreed to move with him to Arwa-Turis and after a while agreed to become a vampire himself.
Sanet later learned about his treachery and promptly cut any contacts with his master although Hector still sometimes checks on Sanets doings.

This one was one of those things that just went further than you expected - and I'm really happy with the result! The addition of the thick lineart lines in some places was an experiment but I think they look quite snazzy 8D I might do more portraits like this one as I want to practice painting a bit more and the result here is more than I expected :3
